Kate Ritchie’s only daughter is growing up fast!
On Monday August 17, Kate’s little girl, whom she shares with estranged husband Stuart Webb, rung in her sixth birthday – and Kate made sure she paid tribute to her pride and joy.
Sharing a rare new selfie with Mae via her Instagram page, the former Home And Away actress accompanied the stunning image with a heartfelt message.
“Happy 6th Birthday to the most delightful, clever, funny and inquisitive little person I know.. I am the luckiest Mumma ever to have been blessed with this precious soul,” the 42-year-old penned.
“Mae, thank you for choosing me. You bring so much joy to so many people and I can only hope you carry that joy within your heart too, always. I couldn’t be more proud of the person you are growing into. Just don’t grow too fast, okay? xxx #six,” the Nova radio star signed off.
In the snap, Mae’s similarities to her famous mum are more than apparent, with the six-year-old sharing the same cheeky smile and warm eyes as Kate.
Kate’s heartfelt post was soon flooded with well wishes from her friends and fans.
“Hip Hip Hooray Happy Birthday beautiful Mae. 🙌🏻You are growing into a beautiful young lady. We love you ❤️❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉,” Kate’s on-screen mother from Home And Away Debra Lawrance commented, while Channel Nine sports presenter Erin Molan left a string of love-heart eye and kiss emojis.
No doubt Kate will be working on yet another special birthday cake creation for her daughter, with the actress telling The Weekly she loves using the Australian Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake Book for inspiration.
“Of the six birthday cakes I have baked for my daughter three have come straight from the,” Kate told The Weekly.
“And the other three have certainly been inspired by it,” she added before describing the familiar creations she’s whipped up for Mae over the years.”
She said Mae enjoys the fun of being in the kitchen, with a little extra incentive at the end.
“It is just good fun with a lovely sense of achievement attached when we can stand back and marvel at our creations,” she said, before adding: “I can’t deny the fact that scoring the bowl and the spatula serves as excellent encouragement to get involved too!”
Following her wedding to retired NRL player Sturt Webb in 2010, the couple welcomed Mae in 2014.
