Jesinta Franklin welcomed a gorgeous baby son in March – her second child under the age of two.
The feat is nothing to sneeze at, and Jesinta was very well aware of it herself, telling her followers: “I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous.”
But it looks as though she’s arming herself with the best support possible – her latest Instagram post certainly tells us as much.
The 29-year-old shared an update on Instagram about her postpartum journey the second time around with her baby son, named Rocky.
In the snap, she holds her baby in a carrier with another woman beside her – Jesinta explained in the caption: “‘Mothers need just as much nurturing, love & care as a newborn, because they too have just been born.’ Grateful to have @upliftedcollective, my post partum doula, by my side during this special time.”
She made a very good point – the extent of a mother’s physical and mental overhaul in pregnancy and giving birth is unfathomable for some, and it deserves to be talked about more.
Jesinta’s friends and followers showed their support for the new mum with their own comments.
“So true,” one wrote.
Another added: “I love what you say about mothers being born. thought provoking xx.”
She was also flooded with supportive love heart emojis.
While often keeping her personal life away from the limelight, Jesinta has been a voice for new mum’s across the country as she shares more of her experience.
Her podcast, Baby Steps, delves into motherhood and the challenges she faces and overcomes, and others she learns to live with.
Chatting with co-host Remy Rippon about fertility and conception, Jesinta shared one of her striking quotes to her Instagram: “We only really talk about fertility when it’s time to have a baby, or we’re ready to have a baby, but we need to start having the discussion sooner so we know we have options.”
Jesinta and husband Buddy also share one-year-old daughter Tullulah, who is taking up a very important mantel of Big Sister these days.
Earlier this week, Jesinta shared a cute update with her eldest daughter, sharing a picture of her at the beach and writing: “Mummy & Lulu time. I loved spending some 1:1 time with my gorgeous big girl this afternoon, it filled my heart with so much joy!”
While the journey is no doubt easy, it’s nice to see Jesinta be so open and honest about motherhood and pregnancy – here’s to bringing more of those important conversations to the forefront.
