Edwina Bartholomew’s daughter Molly has turned two, and her precious reaction to her party is genuinely the sweetest thing ever!
However, before Molly’s big day could begin, her pregnant mum had to navigate the highs and lows of baking a Bluey cake.
Taking to her Instagram stories to share her journey, Edwina detailed the process and despite some minor mishaps, the final product was pretty perfect.
The recipe she used was simple and required eggs, milk, and butter – all was well and good until it was 9:38 pm.
Edwina commented, “This is not the recommended time to start baking.”
However, she pressed through (undoubtedly, pregnancy fatigue was kicking in) despite admitting that her “icing took a turn for the worse”.
The Sunrise star even messaged the baker who gave her the recipe to ask for some advice, and it turns out she only needed to add a few drops of water to the mix to become fluffy and spread evenly.
Turns out her baking journey was a mighty success, and she ended her saga with a picture of Molly holding her cake with blue icing around her mouth.
Edwina posted a picture of her toddler enjoying a bubble machine and her homemade cake on her Instagram grid as well as Molly’s reaction to blowing out her candles.
The proud mumma captioned the photos, “The unbridled joy of turning two xx.”
Her famous colleagues and friends shared their congratulations and admiration for Molly in the post’s comment section.
Carrie Bickmore wrote, “She is just so sweet 😍,” Angela Bishop commented, “Her face! Beautiful 😍,” and Kylie Gillies shared, “❤️❤️❤️.”
Edwina is nearing the end of her second pregnancy, and recently told Now To Love that the process feels longer than the first.
“I feel like I’m about 13 months pregnant, but it’s great I’ve been feeling really healthy and really good,” the soon-to-be mum-of-two shared.
“Hopefully we have another Molly – they sleep well, and eat well, and it all goes to plan! Of course, that’s not what babies do!”
Edwina added that while she has a few baby names in mind already, she won’t be sharing any until the bub arrives.
“A few we didn’t use last time have made it back on the list, but I’ve learned very early not to tell anyone because then you get opinions from all corners – including my mum!”
Molly and Edwina recently went on a babymoon together at Sydney’s Crown Hotel.
They indulged in every glamorous activity they could from spa treatments to babycinos while they admired the incredible harbour city views from their room.
“Room service. Movie on the big screen. Molly’s specialty spa treatment. Pool to ourselves at 6am. Babycinos and the buffet. Aquarium by 10am,” wrote the presenter alongside a slew of pictures from their getaway.
“Thank you to @visitnsw for the night at @crownsydney. Apologies for the little fingerprints all over your shiny surfaces.”
