Chrissy Teigen is upfront, honest and refuses to take crap from anyone, particularly online trolls.
The mum-of-two and wife to John Legend, recently posted a video to Twitter of her watching Sesame Street with her three-year-old daughter, Luna after painting her toenails.
“Doing her nails is my knitting. Kid toes kill me!,” Chrissy wrote.
While the adorable post racked up thousands of likes from her fans and most comments praised the model and host of Lip Sync Battle for her pedi skills, others couldn’t resist shaming her for putting nail polish on her daughter.
“Applying poisonous chemicals directly onto a child’s body can not be good. Whatever poisons are in polish are absorbed through the nail and directly into their body,” commented one user.
The mother of two was quick to clap-back with a sarcastic response by retweeting the criticism (which has been deleted): “Well I actually had her drink it so joke’s on you.”
Users loved the Twitter take-down and the response ended up more popular than the original post, receiving over 293,000 likes and 23,000 retweets in less than two days.
Chrissy is loved for her no-filter, candid views on social media but there are some things that are off-limits as she carefully considers what she posts about her daughter, Luna and one-year-old son, Miles.
“I don’t really post any things that the kids would be ashamed of or mad at me for posting. I see a lot of people posting their kids’ tantrums and having super-meltdowns. I don’t post that stuff just because that, to me, is like – I wouldn’t want someone to do that,” she explained.
“You try to protect them, of course, but for the most part, aside from the kids, there is no limit.”
Oh how we love Chrissy’s honesty, particularly when it comes to motherhood. She shares real insights into her life on her Instagram and Twitter accounts and she’s refreshingly unapologetic for how she parents and what she says.
If the trolls think their comments bother Chrissy in the slightest…. they obviously don’t know who they are dealing with!
