Carrie Bickmore made the most of the summer holidays with her family, but now the TV mainstay is gearing up for another huge year of work.
That means saying goodbye to lazy days by the water with her partner Chris Walker and three kids, Oliver, Evie and Adelaide.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the 41-year-old mum reminisced on her “downtime with the fam” over the break and revealed that the holidays were a little bittersweet.
“Back at work tomorrow after some sunny time with the fam,” she captioned a series of photos from the holiday season.
“Still missing many of the people I love badly due to the WA border closure, but know how lucky we were to even have some downtime as a fam.”
It looks like her little family of five made plenty of memories in the sun and the waves, and we can’t get over how much Evie looks like her mum these days!
The holiday snaps show that Carrie’s eldest daughter, who will be seven in March, has inherited her mum’s blonde hair and huge grin.
They even look identical from the side, as proven by one of the photos Carrie shared from what looks like a casual family lunch.
The doting mum-of-three concluded the post: “Feeling very grateful and ready for another big year of work. Sending so much love to everyone in these weird times. 🥰”
But she wasn’t finished with the cute family tributes just yet!
Moments later she shared a black and white photo of her eldest child, Oliver, from behind as he walked with his little half-sister Adelaide in his arms.
Overwhelmed with affection for her teen son, Carrie captioned the image: “And savouring the summers with my glorious man-child before his friends become way more fun to holiday with than his fam 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲 “
She even confessed that, like many parents, she is “outwardly trying to give him independence and freedom while internally being a stage 5 clinger”.
Oliver is Carrie’s only child from her first marriage to former husband Greg Lange, who sadly died in 2010 after a decade-long battle with brain cancer.
Carrie went on to find love again with Chris, who has since become a key figure in Oliver’s life, and helped give Carrie two more children – her girls.
Opening up about Chris’ special role in her and Oliver’s life, Carrie told TV WEEK: “He like many people understands loss and suffered his own loss in life and I think he just has a huge amount of compassion.
“He will always be incredibly supportive of me and for our family.”
It sounds like Carrie couldn’t have a better partner by her side as she heads back to work on The Project for another huge year.
Though, knowing this devoted mum, she’ll still be making plenty of time for her kids in 2022.
