Actress Brigitte Nielsen has welcomed her fifth child, and her first daughter, at 54. The eighties icon revealed to PEOPLE, she and her husband Mattia Dessi, were delighted about the arrival of their little girl who they sweetly named, Frida.
“We are overjoyed to welcome our beautiful daughter into our lives,” the proud parents said.
“It’s been a long road, and so worth it. We’ve never been more in love.”
Bridgette has been married to Italian TV producer Mattia Dessi, 39, since 2006. Mattia is her fifth husband, she was previously married to Raoul Meyer (1993 — 2003), Sebastian Copeland (1990 — 1992), Sylvester Stallone (1985 — 1987) and Kasper Winding (1983 — 1984).
Bridgette and Mattia tied the knot in July 2006, in Malta, Italy after first having an unofficial ceremony in February 2005.
The Danish-Italian actress is the mum to adult sons Julian, 34, Killian, 28, Douglas, 25, and Raoul, 23.
Brigitte announced she was pregnant with her fifth child just last month on Instagram. The Red Sonja posted a photograph of herself dressed in a white and cradling her large baby bump.
She simply captioned her shot, “Family getting larger”.
The heavily pregnant mum-of-four followed up her first post with a second baby bump photo posing serenely in a white T-shirt dress, sunglasses and a chic scarf draped around her neck. She captioned her post “Happy times. Positive vibes.”
The pregnancy announcement came as a shock to fans who hadn’t spotted a baby bump in the lead up to the exciting announcement.
The movie star is best known for her roles in 1985’s Rocky IV, 1986’s Cobra and 1987’s Beverly Hills Cop II.
