When Bindi Irwin announced her pregnancy to the world in August, it would be safe to say Australia was dead set ready for its next wildlife warrior.

Bindi shared the exciting news with her following on Instagram alongside a picture of herself and husband Chandler Powell holding a mini part rangers outfit, writing: “Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting! It’s an honour to share this special moment in our lives with you.”

The post itself was enough to have fans celebrating.

The 22 year old had only recently married her long-time partner Chandler Powell in a small ceremony back in March, just as the world went into lockdown.

Ever since, we’ve been anticipating any and every update on her pregnancy.

And on Tuesday evening, Chandler and Bindi revealed the gender of their new baby on Instagram.

Sharing a picture of the parents-to-be to her Instagram next to a large tortoise and holding a baby scan, Bindi announced: “Baby girl, you are our world.”

She continued: “Our beautiful daughter is now about the same size as a hatchling Aldabra tortoise and is as healthy as can be. We can’t wait for her arrival next year.”

Bindi’s nearest and dearest took straight to the post to share their excitement for the big reveal.

Younger brother Rob Irwin wrote: “I can’t wait to meet my niece!”

And dad-to-be Chandler himself also added: “I love you and our daughter more than anything.”

The parents-to-be couldn’t look more excited.

While Bindi is yet to show off her baby bump in full, we’ve been getting some ridiculously adorable snaps of herself and Chandler looking more loved up than ever to tide us over.

Over the weekend, Bindi shared another sweet pic of the pair, writing: “Thank you for always being there for me to lean on.”

Bindi shared this sweet pic with husband Chandler earlier this week.

Bindi and Chandler married at Australia Zoo on March 25, just hours before government restrictions were put in place due to the coronavirus crisis that limited the number of guests allowed to attend the ceremony.

Many friends and family members were unable to attend due to the pandemic, but the couple lit a candle in honour of Bindi’s late father Steve Irwin on the day.

“I think it’s really special that he’s always with us and he walks beside us with everything that we do,” a tearful Bindi said at the wedding, with her new husband adding that in a way, Steve brought the two together.

“He was my hero growing up and it means the world that he’s always here with us,” Chandler also added.
