Comedian Amy Schumer and her chef husband Chris Fischer welcomed a gorgeous baby boy into the world yesterday – yes, on the same day as Baby Sussex!
The hilarious Trainwreck star announced the happy news on Instagram, sharing a sweet snap of the new family with her followers.
Amy shared a candid photo of herself lying in her hospital bed with the new bundle of joy in her arms and receiving a kiss from her husband.
“10:55 pm last night. Our royal baby was born,” Amy captioned the baby announcement.
Now in a follow-up post, the 37-year-old first time mother has revealed the unusual name she and Chris decided to give their little one – Gene.
“Gene Attell Fischer and his dad Chris,” she captioned the adorable photo below.
Gene and Baby Sussex will forever be bound for life, sharing May 6th as a birthday.
And Amy has previously poked fun at what it was like being pregnant at the same time as Meghan Markle, which any mother could empathise with.
Back in October when Harry and Meghan were on their royal tour of Australia, the I Feel Pretty star posted a snap of her and her husband’s faces Photoshopped onto the bodies of the royal couple.
“About to announce some exciting news on @jessicayellin insta page. Please follow her for up to the minute #newsnotnoise she breaks down what’s really going on. She agreed to post a lil noise today for me! Follow her and VOTE!!” she captioned the hilarious photo, which you can see below.
In her hit Netflix comedy special Growing, Amy revealed that her husband Chris has autism spectrum disorder.
“I knew from the beginning that my husband’s brain was a little different than mine,” she revealed.
“My husband was diagnosed with what used to be called Asperger’s. He has autism spectrum disorder. He’s on the spectrum. And there were some signs early on.”
She explained that she once fell over in the street and her husband’ reaction was … unexpected.
“Nine out of 10 people would go, ‘Oh my god, are you OK?'” Amy said.
“Maybe more like 10 out of 10 people. Instead, my husband […] kind of froze and became a lighthouse, opening and closing his mouth.”

But Amy says it’s these little quirks that make her love Chris even more.
“Once he was diagnosed, it dawned on me how funny it was because all of the characteristics that make it clear that he’s on the spectrum are all of the reasons that I fell madly in love with him,” Amy said. .
“That’s the truth. He says whatever is on his mind. He keeps it so real. He doesn’t care about social norms or what you expect him to say or do.
“If I say to him, ‘Does this look like s–?’ He’ll go, ‘Yeah, you have a lot of other clothes. Why don’t you wear those?’
“But he can also make me feel more beautiful than anyone ever has in my whole life. And he can’t lie! Isn’t that the dream man?”
Congratulations to these two!
