I slept with my sister’s man… by accident!

I’ve never felt the need to have someone, a soulmate, a husband, a boyfriend, a lover or even just a close male friend. But when I hit 24 I suddenly felt an urge for company, maybe even love.

I had just packed my suitcase, ready for a trip up the coast when I had a crazy idea. Don’t take anything with you. Have a break from everything, buy new clothes when you get there, act like a different person, take a stash of money out of your bank and forget your identity for the whole two weeks. So I did. I had a fantastic-paying job so I decided to withdraw $15,000 from my savings and spend it on whatever I wanted.

I got to my resort and entered my luxury suite. The first thing I wanted to do was to get completely relaxed so I rang the front desk and booked a massage for that afternoon. Then I realised I needed clothes for the evening — something completely different from what I’d normally wear. I walked to the street of boutiques and bought $1500 worth of clothes.

Then I passed an adult store and glanced inside. Normally a glance would be all I needed to satisfy my curiosity but now I wasn’t me. I was someone new and exciting and a raunchy sex costume was a necessity! I bought red lace panties with a matching silk robe.

I returned to my hotel room just in time for my massage. I opened the door to let in the masseur — but what a masseur! He had a sculpted body, an olive complexion with hazel eyes and a chiselled jaw line.

“Afternoon miss, your full-body massage has arrived.”

I stood in awe of this sexy man. The massage was amazing. And I knew it was not going to be my last one.

I went out that night and found a group of people who wanted to party as much as I did. We had a great time but I couldn’t get the sexy masseuse out of my mind. So I booked another massage and specifically asked for the young man I had yesterday.

I heard a knock on the door, and there he was again. Feeling a sudden rush of embarrassment, my face turned red, matching the lace g-string I had on underneath my robe. But I continued with my plan. He asked me to dress in a towel and make myself comfortable on the massage table. Instead, I dropped my robe and said “I’d actually be more comfortable without a towel.”

His gorgeous jaw dropped and trying to remain professional, he stumbled across words like “company policies” and his job being “in jeopardy”, but I had gone too far now to accept rejection. I moved closer to him, backing him onto the table.

I’m not proud of how I went about it, but the incredible time I had with this man satisfied me for the rest of my holiday. The rush of being impulsive and completely unlike myself was fantastic! Sadly, the holiday had to end and I had to go back to my life and resume my identity once again.

I thought the holiday would never resurface in my mind once I was back to my routine but I was wrong. All I could think about was that masseur and the thought of him made me blush like a lovesick school girl. I decided I’d contact him in the new year, which was only a few weeks away.

Fate, however, stepped in before I had a chance. My family was having a Christmas dinner like they usually do. The difference this time was, my younger sister brought a date along.

To my surprise and deep dismay her quite serious partner happened to be my sexy one-night stand masseur. He walked into the family lounge holding my younger sister’s hand. My heart dropped at the exact time his jaw dropped.

To this day we have kept the secret from my sister. They got married and I could never let my impulsive decisions ruin the obvious love she had found.

Recently, at a family do of his, he and my sister approached me with another man. As they drew nearer, I realised he looked incredibly similar to the masseur I had still been having fantasies about — my sister’s husband.

He turned out to be his older brother who had just returned from a two-year world trip. Let me just say, good, strong hands definitely run in the family.

Women’s soccer: Bend it like … Cheryl?

By Glenda Kwek

She sprints down the side of the field, evading two players chasing after her. Running towards the centre of the pitch, she sidesteps another defender and takes a hard swing at the ball. As it sails into the top right-hand corner of the goal, she yells “I love football!”

But this “football” isn’t rugby, union or AFL. It’s the other footy code — soccer, or as purists would call it, football — the world game.

Our awareness of football has been dominated by the men’s game — we’ve all heard the names Ronaldo, Maradona, Pele and, of course, Beckham. But women have been playing this sport for as long as men, and the popularity of women’s football is growing.

Since the success of the Socceroos at the 2006 World Cup, and of the Matildas at the 2007 World Cup, more men and women are playing the game in friendlies, office competitions and amateur leagues around Australia. And the film Bend It Like Beckham, starring Parminder Nagra and Keira Knightley, didn’t hurt either!

My big fat fake wedding

By Megan Norris

Pictures: Frances Andrijich

Angela had everything that a blushing bride could want — except a groom!

Perched on a podium in the bridal store, Angela Travers twirled in front of the mirror in the gown of her dreams.

“So, where’s the lucky groom today?” asked an assistant as she fussed with Angela’s white veil. The blushing bride was suddenly stuck for words.

Angela didn’t have the heart to tell the woman she didn’t even have a boyfriend, let alone a bridegroom. She was planning to have a white wedding with all the trimmings — all by herself! It was a scene straight out of Muriel’s Wedding.

It was back in 2006 that the Perth fun-lover first woke with wedding bells ringing in her ears.

“I’d been in London for three years and had come home to work for a few months before planning to return to England,” says Angela, who works for a WA oil and gas shipping company. But then she realised that if Mr Right were waiting for her overseas, many of her friends would miss out on the wedding.

Angela, now 37, came up with a crazy plan — to get married on her own in a flash bash where she could be a dream bride and the centre of all that attention.

“I didn’t want to be an old, fat, frumpy bride,” she grins. “So I thought I’d do it now, while I still looked good enough in a slinky, gorgeous wedding gown.”

The former wedding planner, who once organised romantic weddings at a posh WA country club, ordered the works — flowers, bridesmaids, a photographer and, of course, the wedding dress.

“Not having a groom was a bonus, since I was the one making all the decisions about the wedding party,” she says. “There was no conflict or squabbles or meddling in-laws … This was definitely going to be all about me, me, me!” she laughs.

Princess Isabella’s 1st birthday

The Danish royal house celebrates as their gorgeous little princess turns one.

Adorable Princess Isabella rang in her first birthday with a quiet party at Fredensborg Palace on April 21, with doting parents Princess Mary and Prince Frederik and her brother Prince Christian.

The family celebrated with a pink, heart-shaped birthday cake on a table decorated with toy soldiers and Danish flags. Isabella also enjoyed some fun and games as she and her mum played with giant fit balls and held a pretend tea party.

Personality plus

While Isabella and Christian, 2, may look like two peas in a pod, Mary, 36, says they have very different personalities.

“Isabella is generally far more temperamental than Christian,” the Aussie princess says. “He was an unusually calm and mild baby. Isabella can be really, really happy and then she can be really, really angry. But when she smiles, you’re helpless.”

Katie’s Scientology boot camp

Struggling to cope with her marriage, the actress is sent off for intensive auditing.

Katie Holmes was reportedly shipped off to a secret Scientology camp in the weeks leading up to her daughter Suri’s second birthday celebrations, in a desperate bid to save her troubled marriage.

Insiders say Katie had been struck with crippling migraines and dizzy spells as she struggled to cope with controlling Tom’s constant demands for another baby, and his insistence that he oversee her Hollywood career.

The troubled actress flew to the controversial church’s Californian desert headquarters at Gilman Hot Springs for intensive “auditing” after the pressure of her lifestyle allegedly saw her weight plummet to just 50kg. Doctors say a woman of her height should weigh around 61kg.

From March 20 to 22, Katie spent up to eight hours a day at the Scientology compound being questioned by trained auditors on every aspect of her life since childhood, a source told UK magazine Now.

Jeanne’s TV Week Logies frocks rock!

By Glen Williams

Pictures: David Hahn

Aussie TV and fashion icon Jeanne Little looks back down memory lane.

When it comes to fabulous fashion at the TV Week Logies one woman reigns supreme — Jeanne Little. The flamboyant fashionista has been lighting up the red carpet since 1975 and this week was announced as the winner of the 50 Best Logies Frocks by TV Week magazine. Jeanne’s red carpet resume is so impressive that TV Week‘s judging panel awarded her both first and second prizes, beating the likes of fashionistas Sonia Kruger and Megan Gale. To celebrate her incredible achievement on this 50th anniversary of the TV Week Logies, Jeanne invited Woman’s Day into her home and inside her wardrobe to take a look back at her unforgettable outfits.

How many Logies do you have?

I’ve got three. I take it as an honour because it’s the public voting for you. It’s lovely to win a Logie.

What did winning a Gold Logie in 1976 mean to you?

Well daaahling, I was in total shock. Absolute shock, I thought, “What me? Winning a Gold Logie? For Heaven’s sake this is ridiculous, there’s been a mistake.” I really, honestly, didn’t expect it at all. I’d only been on TV for two years then, so I didn’t expect it.

Your win caused a stir and a wave of jealousy?

Yes I know. Nobody even clapped. Nobody congratulated me, except one person. I wasn’t hurt because nobody expected it and I certainly didn’t. But all I could think was, wow I’m a Gold Logie person!

Do you still see it as the night where Bert Newton shone the brightest?

He was my favourite host. I wish he still hosted it.

Do you enjoy Logies nights?

I love it daaahling. I love clothes and I love to see what get-ups people turn out in. I’ll stand there and go, “Oh she looks shocking, that one looks terrible, she should have done this and that.” They can be real bitchy nights and I loved all that. The food used to be good, but now you’re lucky if you get a couple of chicken legs. And you’re often seated at a table with people you don’t really like.

Everyone talks about the after-parties …

Oh gosh yes you only have to wander by a huddle of people and you’ll pick up so much dirt. It’s just fantastic. I remember Mike Walsh storming out of one. And in the loos there’s all these loose lipped full people saying too much. But overall it’s a fun thing to go to.

You’ve got glamour built into you

Thank you Daahling. It’s probably because my mother was a tailoress. Even when I was young I’d make all my clothes.

So do you say make a bit of effort?

Yes, its TV’s night of nights we can put Australia on the map and look really good. I feel as though as this is the night for TV in Australia. But if they make an effort the photos will go all around the world. Try and look sensational.

Who are some of the big stars you’ve met at the Logies through the years?

Well Burt Lancaster gave me the Gold Logie, he was the most charming man. Really, really lovely. Merle Oberon, can you believe it. They found out she wasn’t who she was supposed to be. It turned out she was born in Calcutta in the slums, she was supposed to be born in Tasmania. She was beautiful. Phyllis Diller and Mohamed Ali were both terrific. I think Burt Lancaster was my favourite. He was so nice.

A lot of the overseas guests look a bit dumbfounded as if they don’t know what a Logie is?

Yes many of them wonder what’s going on.

You’ve said Logies nights are nights where you can pick up more dirt than a top brand vacuum cleaner.

That’s fabulous, dahling, did I say that? You hear it all. You’ll hear people saying “My God, doesn’t she look vile,” as you walk past. Everyone is a target. It used to be funny. People get wine for nothing and they’re all smashed.

Do you recall any celebrity drunken moments?

I certainly do. Dahling, there was this one girl who was as drunk as anything, she just got her Logie and smashed it against the wall. And the top came off and just rolled around on the floor. And I thought, my golly what’s going on? But truly that’s how it was. She was one of your so-called serious actresses and she better remain nameless.

What was your most bizarre Logies moment?

The first one I went to was in 1975. Most people were in jeans and a jacket and looked more like bikies than celebrities. People didn’t at all get dressed up. If they saw me in a gown like this they would have had a heart attack. Then it changed and it got more dressy and glamorous.
