30 years ago Back to the Future took audiences on a ride we’ll never forget and quickly became a cult classic, but three decades later, where is the cast now?
Despite still waiting for our hover boards, Back to the Future is certainly up there with the greatest films of all time.
From Marty McFly the guy we were all in love with to Mr Strickland the disciplinarian the entire world collectively hated – we look back at what the cast is up to now!
Michael J Fox made Marty McFly famous in the franchise and it catapulted him to world-wide fame.
In fact, the producers were so keen on locking down the Family Ties star that they moved production several times to secure him.
“Michael had always been our first choice, but we couldn’t get him out of his TV series. So we kept pushing the start date back several times,” the film’s screenwriter and producer Bob Gale told People.
Fox went on to enjoy a successful career and star in popular TV series Spin City, Boston Legal and The Good Wife.
See what the rest of the cast is up to now, 30-years on!
He was catapulted into international stardom as Marty MCfly and despite being diagnosed with Parkinson disease in 2002 Michael J Fox has enjoyed an incredibly success acting career.
Crispin Glover was the handsome dad in the Back to the Future franchise, and it seems not much has changed – well except for the dad part. He is still single, so ladies get in quick.
Lea Thompson is now 54 and married with two gorgeous girls. She still enjoys a steady acting career after her success as Linda McFly
We are not going to lie, our hearts broke when Claudia Wells became Mrs Marty McFly! After a long hiatus, Claudia returned to acting in 1996, while also being kept busy with a high-end men’s retail store in California.
Mr Strickland was the disciplinarian we all hated! James Tolkan, who is now 84, went on to experience success with his acting career and is a regular at conventions.
Marc McClure, who played Marty’s older brother, went on to star alongside Lindsay Lohan in Freaky Friday!
Sadly in 2005 Jo Sperber lost her battle with cancer, her legacy though is the WeSPARK foundation which offers a support centre to those suffering with cancer.
