The Late Late Show with James Corden has quickly become one of the most hilarious talk shows on telly, largely thanks to the segment, Carpool Karaoke where James drives around a music superstar while they sing their hit songs.
Usually this part of the show causes some serious belly laughs, however it took Stevie Wonder and a touching rendition of I Just Called To Say I Love You to bring on the waterworks.
“My wife won’t really believe I am in the car with you today,” the comedian revealed to the Grammy winner.
“Do you want me to ring her?” Stevie quickly offered – cue all the feels.
The host soon handed his phone to the 65-year-old musician while they waited patiently for James’ wife Julia Carey to pick up.
Ever the prankster, Stevie practiced his best British accent on the blonde beauty, before he took out his famous harmonica and began belting a tune.
“I just called to say, James loves you,” he sung, while James was overcome with emotion as he wiped away tears from his eyes.
Julia, who was also emotional, told her husband she loved him as they phone call ended.
The pair seemed to get on like a house on fire with Stevie even proclaiming that they should start a band together!
Stevie is just one of the many music superstars who have sat beside James in the segment, among them have been the likes of Justin Bieber, Rod Stewart and Mariah Carey – but this latest instalment certainly takes the cake.
