Who can forget the 1996 blockbuster (and animation-live-action hybrid classic) Space Jam, starring the legendary, Michael Jordan?
It seems like everything is in motion for this sequel to be brought to life (or animation), with Warner Bros. Entertainment filing new Space Jam trademarks. Bouncing in Michael’s footsteps is none other than LeBron James, who has just signed on a production deal the studio.
In 2013 a fan tweeted the basketball ball superstar asking if he would consider doing the film, which he responded: “Think about it a lot. Would be great!”
LeBron has Hollywood in a frenzy after his hilarious self-portrayal in Amy Schumer’s new film Trainwreck.
While we assume Bugs Bunny and the team will be back in full-force, we’re hoping they give our favourite Ghostbuster, Bill Murray a call.
We can’t think of a better reason to bring Bill out of retirement than Space Jam, the sequel!
Speaking of amazing 90s reboots, Xena: Warrior Princess is rumoured to be in talks to be brought back to life!
Sources have told The Hollywood Reporter that NBC and NBC Universal International are in the process of rebooting of the beloved Hercules spin-off.
Xena herself, Lucy Lawless has weighed in: “Sorry, friends! news of a #Xena reboot is just a rumour. I’d love it to happen one day but it’s still in the wishful thinking stage,” she tweeted.
But don’t lose all hope just yet! Spoiler alert: Lucy Lawless’ Xena did die in the series finale!
The reboot is still very much in the early days, with the show aiming for a 2016 launch.
Sources close to the production are hoping to create a Hunger Games’ Katniss (made famous by Jennifer Lawrence) hybrid with Xena’s character. Think Katniss’ smarts meets Xena’s wit and charm!
We’re jamming for all these revivals!
