The beloved segment saw one of the world’s biggest music legends belt out hits like Tiny Dancer, Your Song and Crocodile Rock.
Elton proved you don’t need an arena to provide a spectacular performance. During his appearance the Brit donned numerous flamboyant outfits while he chatted about his diva reputation.
James coaxed Elton into admitting that his personality runs in the family with the father-of-two revealing he “loves it” when his kids throw a tantrum.
Recalling one of his strangest outbursts, Elton explained he wanted a manger of the upmarket London hotel, Park Lane, to change the weather.
“I rang the office, I spoke to a guy called Robert Key and I said Robert it’s far too windy here can you do something about it,” he began.
Laughing, he added, “I can imagine him putting his hand over the receiver and going ‘he’s finally lost the plot!'”
“It wasn’t a tantrum as such, but as far as reality goes it was pretty far off the chart.”
For the 68-year-old, it is his two boys that have changed his temperament for good.
“They’ve been amazing. I haven’t had one second in Zachary or Elijah’s life where I’ve felt that they’ve been getting on my nerves,” he gushed
“I can’t believe I’m sitting in the car telling you this, because 10 years ago if you told me I’d be telling you this I would’ve said you’re crazy but it’s changed my life.”
The father, who had his boys through a surrogate, added, “I thought I was too old to be a dad and no I’m not too old to be a dad. You’re not too old to do anything. They’ve changed our lives completely.”
While he might be a legend, Elton doesn’t need certain material goods including a phone. After explaining that he has to buy four of everything, including CDs, “one for the house here, one for the house in France, one for the house in England and one for the place in Atlanta,” James had a simpler solution.
“You know you could just get an iPod, right?” he quipped. It was then Elton shock us all admitting, “I don’t have a phone!”
The talented singer quickly reassured James that, “There’s usually a security person with a phone!”
The surreal experience has already been watched by over half a million people (and it’s been up for an hour).
“Oh, my God,” James gushed. “If I could tell my 12-year-old self I would be doing this with my life, it’s head would explode. Thank you so much for helping me get to work. I really appreciate it.”
