Three-year-old Zoey Grace Alford was born with Frontal Encephalocele and a Cleft Palate. This means that the front of Zoey’s skull did not form, leaving her brain exposed and the Cleft Palate caused one her nostrils not to form.
Doctors expected to Zoey die in utero, but the strong she made it through. Now this little girl all the way from the US has won the hearts of many all over the world, thanks to a widely shared GoFundMe page telling her story and raising money to help pay for some of the 13 surgeries Zoey is set to undergo in her lifetime.

The GoFundme page was set up by a family friend, Lana Poole.
Lana told her local paper, The Clarion-Ledger that after the surgeries Zooey will be able to play outside with other children.
“I can’t describe the feeling inside. In my heart … to see that we’re at the halfway mark, this is going to happen. She can go on the playground and play and not have to worry about wearing a mask in 90-degree heat. I hope (the donations) take the stress off the family so they can focus on her,” Poole said.
Zoey and her family are in awe of the donations flooding in, raising almost $30,000 in just a few weeks.
“I am truly blessed that Zoey is surrounded by people who care enough to go out of their way for her. It’s a great feeling when God place good people in your life to help you along the way,” said Zoey’s mother, Tishana Alford, on her Facebook page.
