Why everyone is talking about the welfare mum that is “too beautiful” to get a job

The mother-of-eight thinks that men just see women as “sex symbols” and that “they’re just dirty, big perverts”.

Marie Buchan is one mum who’s not afraid to say what she thinks – so much so, that in the past 24 hours, the 37-year-old has managed to send the internet into overdrive.

And one of the reasons for this is that the reality-TV regular is being reported by numerous international media outlets as saying she is “too beautiful” to work.

Raising eight children, who are aged from three to 15, former lapdancer Ms Buchan is currently studying and training to be a mechanic – a profession she is determined to succeed in.

However, Ms Buchan, who says she is living off welfare benefits, claims that instead of being considered for work in a garage, men just keep hitting on her.

According to the Daily Star, the UK mum says, “A couple of garages approached me after seeing me on TV but as you talk to them more and more you see what they’re after.”

“They’re not really after me working there, they’re looking for something more. I think they’re just dirty big perverts.”

“You’ve got women in the police force, in the Army, we have the skills, it’s just that men see us as sex symbols.”

Although, the octomum’s best intentions for her children have come under fire, with Ms Buchan stating that while she struggles to afford her children’s lunches and dinners, she wants to pay for a “boob job” out of her own pocket.

“[I want to] buy a boob job with my wages,” she told ITV’s This Morning. “Child tax credits and working tax credits pay for the kids.”

Not only that, but it has been reported that Ms Buchan has also been seen shopping for a brand new Range Rover in one of the car brand’s showrooms.

When asked by ITV’s This Morning’s presenters why she broadcasts her controversial comments to the world when she knows she’s going to be slammed for it, Ms Buchan says she is aiming to raise awareness around the difficulties of a single parent.

“I think a lot of people are scared to come out,” she explains. “And being a single parent and trying to find a job is been harder.”
