Burns survivor Turia Pitt is about to take on the next phase of her incredible recovery.

Turia, who was invited to Angelina Jolie’s premiere of Unbroken in Sydney earlier this week, says she will soon undergo nose surgery.

“It’s a pretty big operation, it’s about ten hours and recovery is three months but once it’s done I’ll have a new nose, which I’m really excited about,” she told Sydney Confidential.

Turia was left with burns to 65 per cent of her body, after a fire broke out while she competed in an ultra-marathon run in Western Australia in 2011.

Turia and her long-time partner Michael Hoskin joined other inspirational Australian heroes on the red carpet alongside Angelina and Brad Pitt during their recent visit to Australia.

“What a privilege to meet this extraordinary couple,” Turia said on her Instagram account following the premiere.

In July, Turia secured a confidential multimillion-dollar settlement from the company behind the ultra-marathon tragedy.
