As tsunami survivor Trisha Silvers arrived at her beautiful beach-side wedding, the only thing that could calm her nerves was the man waiting for her at the end of the aisle!
Tying the knot in Brighton, Melbourne Trisha and her handsome groom Jake Squires shared the vows they had written themselves in front of 100 of their closest friend and family.
It’s been 10 years since Trisha tragically lost Troy Broadbridge – her AFL player husband of just eight days – when he was swept away in the devastating 2004 Boxing Day tsunami that claimed 230,000 lives in 14 countries.
Incredibly lucky to have survived the deadly wall of water herself, Trisha thought she’d never be happy again. But she has once again found happiness with Jake and is now 20 weeks pregnant with a little girl!
Although the pair had been trying to start a family, Jake was unaware they were expecting when he popped the question.
“To be a family before our daughter arrives is just the icing on the cake,” says Trisha.
We fell in love so quickly and it almost felt too good to be true.”
The pair will now honeymooning in Mauritius before coming home to prepare for the birth of their precious baby.
