Over 35 years and 36 seasons, Neighbours has given us a bunch of beautiful relationships.

But although they’ve come and gone, many have stayed in our hearts over the years.

Here, we look back at our favourite on-screen romances.

Charlene & Scott (1986 – 1989)

Boy-next-door Scott Robinson (Jason Donovan) and tomboy Charlene Mitchell (Kylie Minogue) were together both on screen and off.

Sadly, Scott and Charlene left Ramsay Street, although their kids, Daniel (Tim Phillipps) and Madison (Sarah Ellen), have both popped up in Erinsborough.

Daphane & Des (1986 – 1988)

These laid-back lovers were early fan favourites.

Daphne Lawrence (Elaine Smith) was the “stripper with a heart of gold” hired to perform at Des Clarke’s (Paul Keane) stag party.

The two married and had a son, Jamie – Ramsay Street’s first baby.

Paul & Gail (1984 – 1989)

Playboy Paul dated many, many women, but few could match him the way Gail Lewis (Fiona Corke) did.

Paul hired Gail to work with him – and they entered into a marriage of convenience to impress a client and later split up.

They reunited in 2005, but the spark had well and truly gone.

Joe & Kerry (1989 – 1990)

Typical Aussie bloke Joe Mangel (Mark Little) and hippie-with-a-cause Kerry Bishop (Linda Hartley-Clark) became fan favourites almost as soon as they got together.

When Kerry was killed by a stray bullet during a duck-hunting protest, there were plenty of tears, particularly over Mark’s heartbreaking portrayal.

Beth & Brad (1992 – 1994)

Tomboy Beth Brennan (Natalie Imbruglia) and larrikin Brad Willis (Scott Michaelson) were meant for one another, but their romance was rocky.

First, Brad’s affair with Lauren (Sarah Vandenbergh) was exposed on their wedding day.

Then, Beth fell for older man Phil (Ian Rawlings). But fate drew the two back together and they married.

But Dr Karl and Susan’s love has withstood the tests and they remain one of Ramsay Street’s most loved duos.

Dee & Toadie (2003)

Jarrod “Toadfish” Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney) long had feelings for pretty nurse Dee Bliss (Madeleine West), who soon realised the good guy was the man for her and the pair tied the knot.

In one of Neighbours’ most shocking scenes, Dee died after the wedding when Toadie crashed his car into the sea.

Ringo & Donna (2008 – 2010)

The course of true love rarely runs smooth – especially in Ramsay Street.

Donna Freedman (Margot Robbie) and Ringo Brown’s (Sam Clark) relationship was no exception.

After meeting in a kissing booth, the pair dealt with a love triangle with Zeke (Matthew Werkmeister) and Donna’s fling with Andrew (Jordan Smith).

They eventually wed, but tragedy soon followed as Ringo was hit and killed by Steph Scully (Carla Bonner) on her motorbike.

Mark & Kate (2010 – 2014)

Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor) and Kate Ramsay (Ashleigh Brewer) were a match made in heaven.

Sadly, their relationship was fraught with peril – thanks to Mark’s job as a cop.
