This woman shared a picture of her breast on Facebook to help save lives

When mother-of-four Lisa Royle noticed small dimples under her left breast she never could have imagined just how dangerous they were and now in an effort to save lives she has shared her story in the most inspiring way.

We all lead busy lives and can sometimes fail to take care of ourselves. Lisa Royle knows this all too well, which is why she’s using her breast cancer story to help educate others.

“Okay so I never thought I’d post a boob picture on Facebook. But I thought I would before they get chopped off next week,” the 42-year-old bravely wrote.

Lisa has undergone a mastectomy, but considers herself one of the lucky ones and used social media as platform to spread the important message of taking some time out to check your breasts.

Alongside the touching message, Lisa posted a picture of her breast and added: “So here it is… This is all I found on my boob. Very subtle dimples underneath that could easily be missed when we’re all rushing round getting ready in a morning.”

Finally the inspirational mum told her Facebook friends: “Please take time to look at your boobs. It could save your life.”

The post has since been shared over 71,000 times!

According to her husband Craig, Lisa is out of hospital and doing well post mastectomy. “The support has blown us away, so a massive thanks to you all,” Craig said of their journey.

According to Breast Cancer Care WA: “Early detection of breast cancer increases the chances of successful treatment and ultimately, survival.”
