On Boxing Day this year, it will officially mark 20 years since child beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey was violently killed in her family’s basement.
Still to this day, the events of that tragic day remain unsolved while the case has had over 140 suspects linked to it.
Now a new docu-series, The Case of JonBenét Ramsey, will see investigators revisit the death of the six-year-old child in a bid to find answers.
In a sign of what is set to come out of the CBS production, the trailer features the chilling phone call JonBenét Ramsey’s mother Patsy made on the night of her daughter’s murder on 24 December 1996.
The new clip – which was released earlier this week – shows experts planning to further analyse Patsy’s call using new technology to strip back the audio and reveal a conversation that happened when the Ramseys thought the call had been disconnected.
The 911 operator who took the call also features in the trailer and tearfully maintains she’s never been questioned by authorities.
“Twenty years, nobody asked me,” the operator says. “I think it would have really turned the case around.”
The docu-series is being tipped to be as popular as Netflix’s Making A Murderer.
Fascination to the case has garnered even more attention after it was confirmed JonBenét’s older brother Burke will give his first ever interview, which is set to be aired in September.
His three-part interview with Dr. Phil promises to “reveal what he knows about his sister’s mysterious murder” and reflect upon the deep impact it’s had on him and his family.
