It’s a truly heart-warming moment to watch: when eight-month-old baby Louise lays eyes on her mother for the first time!
The adorable baby Louise was born with albinism. The condition means that she has a lack of pigment in her eyes which has caused nystagmus, a condition that results in poor vision.
Then, her mum Megan McMorris, fastened a pair of specially-made glasses onto her daughter that mean that she finally had the ability to see!
You’d have to be made of stone if it didn’t instantly melt your heart to see the initially confused Louise then lock eyes with her mum and immediately break into a smile.
“Once she could actually see me, it’s like ‘Oh hi that’s you,'” Megan told the US ABC News Network.
“She’s happy. At least she didn’t start crying.”
Megan’s 15-second-clip has become a global phenomenon with over 9 million views on Youtube since she shared the video two weeks ago!
“We are so happy to get more awareness about albinism out to the world. We’re also blessed it has touched so many hearts,” Megan told website BuzzFeed.
As to how she’s doing now? Megan says: “[The glasses] have helped slow her nystagmus because I think since she sees better, [she] is focusing on objects more than when she’s not wearing her glasses.”
We’re so happy to hear that the adorable baby Louise is doing so well and hope that she gets to see many more wonderful things with her new-found vision!
