The councils in Spain have found the perfect pastime for an ageing population – playgrounds for grandparents.
Public Radio International shared this video of Spain’s elder set are walking on balance beams, passing a weight over twisted metal bars and spinning pedals fixed to benches.
They say the community use the playgrounds for exercise and socialising.
63-year-old retiree, Manuel said he enjoys the playground.
“Once you stop moving, things go so badly,” he said.
Manuel says he feels like any parts of his body that aren’t used start to break down.
But they aren’t just a Euro-wonder, these playgrounds are popping up in London and the US.
Goes to show, we can have fun at any age!
