It’s a sad fact that animal lovers know and dread – puppies at the pond get put down.
But two very cute detained pooches managed to escape their certain fate after a photo of them hugging appeared on Facebook.
According to their website, Angels Among Us Pet Rescue is a non-profit charity dedicated to saving dogs and cats from high-kill shelters in north Georgia. When the organisation shared a picture of shelter dogs Kala and Kiera hugging with a plea for help the image went viral.
“We’re so scared in here,” the post said, taking the voice of Kala, who is seen clinging to Keira, a boxer mix. “The people working in the shelters see how scared we are but just told each other
that today is our deadline. We have to have someone rescue us or we’ll be ‘next.’”
The pups were adopted two hours and six minutes after the picture surfaced by an unnamed vet who came forward to take the puppy pals to a loving home where they can stay together forever.
Isn’t that a loving ending.
