My husband was murdered for his organs

Anthia Mishra has no doubt her husband was murdered in a Delhi hotel room three days after leaving Sydney for India. The devastated widow believes her husband fell victim to an organ trading ring.

Since learning of his death, Anthia, 48, has been battling Indian and Australian authorities to get to the truth and find justice.

“Organ trading is big business in India,” she says, gazing at a photo of her husband Parmanand — a strapping man who was in peak condition due to his dedication to yoga, diet and healthy living.

“So many things don’t add up, and I believe the police, the hotel, and local hospital doctors are all involved. It’s horrifying,” she says. “And trying to get answers from the Indian authorities is proving impossible. My husband was murdered, without a doubt.”

The devoted father-of-three, then aged 45, had gone to India to visit his sick father in the village of Buthaypur. The last his family heard of him was an email he sent to his son Raja, 17, in Australia, letting the family know he’d arrived safely in Delhi. He said he was heading to his father’s village the next day.

Parmanand never made it. He was found dead on March 1, 2005, in a Delhi hotel room…
