Anna Bozman Thompson was left heartbroken in May when her almost nine-year-old son died of leukaemia.
And as she walked down the aisle to marry her long-term partner in October, she knew the day would be bittersweet without her sweet boy, Lake – particularly when it came to taking family portraits.
“Although I felt his presence that day and was actually happy, it was almost unbearable to take family pictures without him,” Thompson wrote on Facebook. “I could feel my emotions taking over.”
But with some help from photographer Brandy Angel, Anna found a way to pay tribute to her gorgeous son by superimposing his faint image into a shot of her, her husband and two children.
“I needed this picture more than more than anyone could know,” Anna explained. “This is my family. And we will be together again.”
Since posting the touching photograph on Facebook on Tuesday, it has garnered over 17,000 ‘likes’ and an outpouring of love and support.
