Missing girl who was last seen by family aged 15 has been found living under a false identity

Rachel Owens was last seen getting off a school bus in 2011 but is alive and well.

A girl who went missing in 2011 when she was 15 has been found living under a false identity in Ohio.

Rachel Owens was reported missing in North Carolina after she was last seen getting off her school bus at South Brunswick High School in Boiling Spring Lakes.

Authorities have found Rachel, who’s now 21, living in Ohio, but she’d gone to “great lengths to intentionally conceal her whereabouts.”

They revealed she’d assumed a new identity and used a fake date of birth.

“Sheriff John Ingram, along with investigators from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, is delighted to announce that Rachel Natacha Owens has been located and is safe,” the release from sheriff’s office spokeswoman Emily Flax said.

FBI Special Agent Rich Novelli, who worked on the case, said they worked tirelessly around numerous leads both in the United States and Mexico.

Novelli said he met with her family on Friday and there is no foul play in her disappearance.
