A man’s body has been found in a charity clothing bin in Rosebery, Sydney after a passerby saw his legs protruding from the bin.
Police were called to the scene around 5am on Wednesday morning where they found the middle-aged man who is yet to be formally identified.
“He was deceased when police arrived,” Inspector Crisafulli told Sydney Morning Herald. “It’s too early at this stage to be able to say what the cause of death was.”
“Clearly you could see part of his body from the outside because that’s how the person who saw him knew he was there.”
“[The death] is not being treated as suspicious or not suspicious yet at this stage until we establish exactly what the cause of death has been.”
Police are appealing for any witnesses or members of the public with information to come forward.
“If anybody was in this area of Rosebery from 3:00am to 5:00am … we’d be interested in talking to you,” Inspector Crisafulli said.
“If anybody saw anything or has any idea how this person came to be inside the bin, then certainly, we’d love to speak to you.”
