A 28-year-old has been arrested for killing and dismembering his parents in Knoxville Tennessee.
Joel Michael Guy Jr has been charged with the murders of 61-year-old Joel Guy and 55-year-old Lisa Guy who were found during a welfare check when Lisa Guy failed to turn up for work.
The extremely grisly details emerged at a press conference with officials at the Knoxville County Sheriff’s Office confirming the couple were stabbed multiple times, possibly tortured and dismembered, their remains scattered in various rooms of their home.
Guy Jr stands accused of murdering his parents, dismembering their bodies and then dissolving them in an acidic chemical, WAFB reported.
“Both (victims) suffered multiple, vicious stab wounds as well as dismemberment,” said Major Michael MacLean of the Knoxville County Sheriff’s Office.

“It would be described as horrific — a very gruesome crime scene. There’s a motivation behind it, but in this case, we don’t know what it is.”
The only motive detectives can think of is that Guy’s parents were going to cut him off financially and that may have led to the murders – they’re checking to see if the pair had a life insurance policy.
He allegedly told the deputies that he had asked for money but his parents said they had other plans and were going to cut him off financially.
Truly horrific.
