A Melbourne man has been arrested after the grisly discovery of 22 dead horses on his property reports 9News.
Neighbours reportedly detected a foul aroma on the property in Melbourne’s north-west which prompted them to investigate.
They discovered 22 horses that had starved to death and a further 22 malnourished horses were on the property. Police are currently trying to relocate these animals.
One other horse had to be euthanised by a veterinarian on the Bulla property the Victorian Police reported.
The 63-year-old-man is being held for questioning, and the Victorian RSPCA will be attending the property today for further investigations.
