The 54-year-old, who is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of Teresa Halbach, abruptly called time on his whirlwind romance while simultaneously labelling his former fiancé as a “gold digger”.

The Manitowoc County local’s friend and former fiancé, Sandra Greenman, took to Facebook to announce the news on his behalf.

It read: “I have a statement that I need passed around to groups. Steve called me two times tonight and wants everyone to know that Lynn and him are done.

“Lynn received at least $5000 from Dr. Phil, and he thinks more. She got another $1000 for doing other shows. She also wanted to be on as many as possible.

“She is a golddigger. He wants someone to contact Dr Phil before Mon. show and let him know she was only in the relationship for money.

“She’s going to be my future wife. We’ll be laughing forever,” the convicted murderer told The Daily Mail after news broke of his engagement.

“I’m happy. She treats me decent, she loves me. She’s kind of spoiling me right now. I just want to be happy and enjoy my life. I think I did enough time.”

“There are a lot of people who want to help him that don’t want to marry him,” said Dr. Phil, questioning the blonde beauty’s intentions.

In the highly-anticipated two-part special of Dr.Phil, Lynn, who only met with Steven three times, recalls the first time they came they came face to face.

“He looks like the sweetest little teddy bear I’ve ever seen in my life,” she said, adding that “teddy bear” is now her fond nickname for the convicted murderer.

“It was just like magic. He grabbed my hands, and we sat at the table and we cried. I was very attracted to him because I could tell how much he loved me. He was the whole package.”

Steven, who then appears to call in from prison, confesses that the love he shares with his now-ex is like nothing he’s ever experienced.

“I haven’t been in love my whole life. It’s not the same as the others. Everything is all different with her.”
