A reporter at WISN 12 News in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, answered his phone to hear the chilling confession to a murder from 33 years earlier.
The killer, Jose Mr Ferreira, 50, gave his disturbing confession to the journalist admitting to not only killing Carrie Ann Jopek, the honey blonde 13-year-old but to raping her as she was dying reports The Sydney Morning Herald.
Ferreira was officially charged one week after his confession, but although Carrie Ann’s mother has closure she still carries immense guilt for her daughter’s death.
On the day of her disappearance, Carrie Ann has been suspended from school. When the principal offered for her mother to come and pick her up, Carolyn Tousignant decided to let the 13-year-old walk the one block home.
She never returned.
For 17 months no one knew what happened but then Carrie Ann’s body was found buried under a neighbour’s porch.
Mr Ferreira, who was 17 at the time, was questioned but was never charged. Now he alleges the pair went to a party, and were going to the basement to have sex.
When Carrie Ann changed her mind and he pushed her down the stairs.
The killer had sex with her while she was on the ground because he thought she was unconscious, but he then discovered she had broken her neck.
He panicked and buried Carrie Ann, and has lived for years believing the girl has been haunting him.
