Australian actor John Jarratt has written a Christmas song dedicated to bringing Schapelle Corby home for Christmas.
In the video, which has been posted on YouTube, John directs his plea to Prime Minister Julia Gillard, saying, “This could be your daughter, this could be your son.”
He adds that regardless of her guilt or innocence, the 35-year-old convicted marijuana smuggler was given a longer sentence than a murderer and should be brought home now.
“So a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year, but poor Schapelle Corby she won’t be here. Bring her home if you want it. Bring her home now,” he sings.
The video, called John Jarratt’s Xmas Carol for Schapelle Corby to Julia Gillard and Australia, sees the 61-year-old Wolf Creek actor sing his own words to the tune of So this is Christmas, about Schapelle “rotting” in a Bali jail over the holiday season.
