Jodhi Meares allegedly suffered minor injuries and her fiancé Jon Stevens has been charged with assault after an incident at their Point Piper home.
The frontman of the band Noiseworks will face court today after police applied for an AVO (apprehended violence order) against the Kiwi-born singer on behalf of Jodhi.
Police confirm that in the early hours of Monday 9th February, they were called out to a Point Piper property, following reports of a domestic argument. They spoke to the man and woman involved before arresting the man.
The man was then taken to Waverley Police Station and charged with assault, before being released on bail. If today’s police AVO application is successful in court, Stevens will be banned from approaching or contacting Jodhi for 28 days.
Jodhi allegedly suffered minor injuries to her wrist after the incident reportedly first kicked off after she discovered a series of text messages on Jon’s phone.
Fashion designer Jodhi, 42, has been marred by controversy since her split from billionaire James Packer. She faced court in August and narrowly avoided jail time after pleading guilty to charges of high-range drink driving.
It was initially thought that the former model could face up to 18 months jail time when she blew an alcohol reading of 0.181 – almost four times the legal limit, after rolling her Range Rover and smashing into three parked cars in Sydney’s Bellevue Hill in June last year. Jodhi was sentenced to a 12-month driving ban and fined $1,100
It seemed like Jodhi had put that controversy behind her when she stepped out with fiancé Jon at the David Jones Autumn/Winter collection launch just one week ago, where the pair of them seemed like a perfectly happy couple. Her first public appearance since the controversy, the former Tigerlily designer reportedly stuck to sipping water.
Jon Stevens is due to appear at Waverley Local Court this morning.
