After a painful few days, Packed to the Rafters star Hugh Sheridan is breathing a sigh of relief with the exciting news his brother Zachary has been found in Nepal following the massive earthquake.

In a post to his Facebook page, which was then screen-grabbed and shared by ecstatic friends, Zach, 20, confirmed that he was safe and was unable to make contact earlier due to the lack of communication in the tiny mountain nation after it was devastated by the massive 7.8 magnitude quake.

Zach wrote: “To anyone concerned, thank you for thinking of me. I have just arrived in Lobuche. I was in Gokyo at the time of the earthquake, thankfully arriving ahead of schedule and on flat ground. I am safe.”

“I am really sorry for everyone affected, especially my guide’s family. We’ve had no news but that it was 7.9. Communication has been down otherwise I would have obviously let you know earlier. Thanks Gran for looking over me.

Zach’s post will no doubt flood his family with relief – including his brother Hugh, who posted yesterday saying that he was flying out to Nepal to help locate his little brother amid the massive search and rescue efforts.

“Thank you everyone for your messages and your kind words. I’m on my way to Nepal now and will head toward base camp to try and find Zachary,” the actor penned.

“I will be with a small crew helping with a chopper, a dr and we will have a satellite phone available for any Australian there who needs to reach home and tell their loved ones they’re ok.”

The caption was accompanied with a sprawling image of a mountain, which was in fact the last photograph Zachary had sent his brother.

While it is a relief that the missing 20-year-old is alive and well, there are still an estimated 200 Australians unaccounted for after the 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck, killing over 3200 people and triggering an avalanche on Mount Everest.
