The luxurious four bedroom property, valued at $3.8 million, is the major prize in an RSL Art Union raffle with tickets going on sale today from just $5.

More than two million raffle tickets have been made available on the RSL Art Union website and punters are allowed to enter as many times as they like.

It is fitting that this house’s changing of hands should benefit veterans as the property’s history is steeped in service.

According to The Daily Telegraph, “the land was bought for 50 pounds in 1906 by Laura Faviell who served as a nurse during the First World War. Her son David fought in World War II and later joined the merchant navy. He married Rita — a German refugee — who lived in the house until she was 98 and became something of a local personality.”

The lucky winner of the lottery could pick up the keys in early October and move in with their first 12 months of rates and water already paid for.
