Former All Saints star Martin Lynes charged with rape

Australian actor Martin Lynes has been charged with the rape and assault of a woman in her home in Bateau Bay, on the New South Wales central coast.

The 48-year-old was charged at Wyong police station on February 28 with a series of offences, including one count of sexual intercourse without consent and three counts of common assault.

“The altercation allegedly escalated, during which the man sexually and indecently assaulted the woman,” a police statement alleges.

Martin starred in a range of hit Aussie dramas like All Saints and Home and Away.

The Daily Telegraph reports, “the victim was treated in hospital for concussion, bruising and bites”.

A NSW Local Courts spokeman told news.com.au the the former actor “has been granted bail on several conditions, which include not going within 100 metres of the victim’s address or contacting her in any way.”

Starring a slew of Aussie dramas, Martin became a household name when he played the character Luke Forlano for seven seasons on All Saints.

He also appeared on Home and Away in 2012 as Summer Bay villain Adam Sharpe.

He has since he retired from acting, and now works as a real estate agent on the NSW central coast.

The matter is expected to return to Wyong Court on April 27.
