Couple meet their adopted daughter for the first time

It's love at first sight.

Sarah and David Olsen have always wanted kids — three to be specific.

Several months after trying for their third child, they realised conceiving naturally would be far from easy. Lovers of children, and keen to provide a loving home for one, they turned their minds to adoption.

“We knew that our family wasn’t complete yet. We knew that we wanted three… we always wanted three. And something in my heart wasn’t done yet,” Sarah said in a video posted earlier this year.

As Christians they also “prayed that God would bring us a little girl” to complete their family.

One day, they received the call. As it was a “stork drop” adoption, they only had a few hours between being told they would soon be parents again and meeting their daughter.

The moment they met: it was truly love at first sight.

“There she was,” Sarah said. “All five lbs. of her. Within a split second of holding her, we couldn’t imagine life without her.”

Adoption is a beautiful, scary, overwhelming and complicated decision. But, as you can see from these heartwarming photographs, for the Olson family bringing Tilly into their lives was certainly a perfect match.

They brought their close friend photographer Kristen Anne along for the ride. As she said on her Facebook Page, “It was one of the most special moments of my life, I was so privileged to watch this all unfold. What a perfect example of unconditional and sacrificial love”.
