Meagan took to Facebook to share how an aneurysm and then a stroke almost claimed her life and left suffering from depression – that was until Britney Spears made her smile again.
At just 7-years-old Meagan suffered a brain aneurysm and after being airlifted to hospital she then experienced a stroke during a 10-hour procedure.
“The first week the doctors told my parents not to expect a good outcome,” the now 13-year-old explained on Facebook.
Brave Meagan spent weeks in hospital which left her “very depressed,” she also added, “I didn’t want to smile or communicate.”
But the Alabama local found strength in a peculiar place, “one day someone played one of my cds. The first song did nothing, but the next song was Toxic by Britney Spears – I smiled, tried moving my hips and lifting my arm waving it back and forth in the air trying to dance,” she explained.
She added: “That song was incorporated in ALL Therapy Sessions. It has been our hope to get my story to Britney.”
Six years later her dream finally came true, with Britney taking to social media to express her joy, “I’m so inspired by you and I’m touched my music helped you get through such a difficult time #JustKeepDancing, sweetie!! You are AMAZING!”
Meagan has since made a remarkable recovery and she showcased her dancing skills in a video that she posted on Facebook as she listens to her favourite song, Toxic.
