A couple’s special day is pushed forward as groom battles terminal cancer

I'll see you on the front porch babe.

Solomon Chau and Jennifer Carter wed in August, and while it was the happiest day of their lives, it was bittersweet nevertheless.

The ceremony was brought forward after Solomon was diagnosed with terminal cancer and on August 17, he passed away.

“Today the most incredible person I’ve ever known passed away after an 8 month battle with cancer,” wrote Jennifer on her Facebook page.

“Sol, you’ll never know the impact you’ve had on me.

“I’m forever in your debt for showing me what love really is all about, and we learned more about it at 26 than some will learn in a lifetime.

“You and I should have been able to live the next 60 years of our lives together, but I’m still forever thankful that God gave us 8 incredible years.

“I’ll see you on the front porch babe.”

Solomon was diagnosed with liver cancer in December 2014 and had surgery to remove the tumour, which doctors initially thought was successful.

In March, a trip back to the hospital with stomach pain left the couple dealing with the news the cancer had spread and was terminal.

Solomon and Jennifer were already engaged but brought the wedding forward upon hearing the news.

And today, while their wedding day is no doubt tattooed in Jennifer’s memories, a video produced by Boundless Weddings will never let her forget it
