Sunday morning was extra sunny at Australia Zoo as their beloved rhinoceros, Caballe welcomed a baby male calf – the fourth rhino to be born at the Zoo in four years.
“The calf weighs approximately 45kg and is doing extremely well,” says Australia Zoo’s Head Keeper for ‘Africa’, Manu Ludden.
“He’s big and strong and is already sucking very well,” she said.
“Caballe is an amazing mother; she’s very attentive and protective of her new baby boy.”
Both mother and son are taking some time out to bond before joining the rest of the rhino family.
Updates will be posted on the Australia Zoo website and Facebook page on when you can visit the little one.
Congratulation, Cabelle!
