Scott, 29, enlisted the help of his daughters Scarlett, 3, and Sienna, 20 months, to help hold up his handwritten cards so he could pop the question to their mummy, his girlfriend of six years, Caitlin Miller.
“Hi Mummy! Guess what?” the first card read, as it was held up by the adorable girls.
“You’re amazing in every way. Everything you do for us. Everything you do for daddy makes us feel so special.”
Scott continued to pass them the cards in a moving gesture reminiscent of the iconic scene from British rom-com Love Actuallywhere Andrew Lincoln’s character finally declares his love for Keira Knightley’s character.
Eventually they hold up the final card, which reads: “So will you marry daddy?”
Scott then holds up his own card which reads: “Me?”
Since posting it to his Facebook page, captioned simply: “She said YES!” Scott’s heart-warming proposal video has gone viral with almost 200,000 shares since the start of the week.
The Notebook is lovingly recreated for epic marriage proposal
“I’d had a bad week, the girls were both sick and he’d been away for three weeks for work and every time I’ve had a bad week he usually puts a little video together for me with photos of the girls,” the newly-engaged Caitlin told the Daily Telegraph.
“So when he played it I just thought he was trying to cheer me up.”
Romantic proposal becomes viral hit text
Caitlin admits though that she was surprised he managed to pull it off! “I was in shock that my oldest didn’t say anything, she is a bit of a chatterbox and she just stood still in the video and they did one take.”
The couple say they are now planning the wedding for early 2016 and hope to have their two little girls as bridesmaids. Click through the gallery to see the adorable couple.
