If you were one of the people who, upon hearing of the upcoming Baywatch reboot, immediately looked forward to seeing Pamela Anderson reprise her red swimmer – you might want to prepare for disappointment.
In a recent interview the Baywatch babe revealed that not only was she not asked to take part in the film – she won’t support it, either!
Pamela, 48, who made a name for herself slow-mo sprinting in a dangerously high-cut red swimsuit, spoke to TMZ about the film recently, saying, “No one appreciates the remakes”.
The reboot, which will star actors Zac Efron and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in lead roles, is planned for a 2016 release and is set to be directed by filmmaker, Seth Gordon.
But not everyone is as sour as Pam is about it – some are downright thrilled, including High School Musical hottie, Zac Efron.
“It’s going to be R-rated, and it’s going to be badass,” Zac told Reuters.
“I don’t think it’s going to be much like the old Baywatch, to be honest,” joked the 27-year-old.
He added: “I think we’re going to kind of reinvent it in a big way.”
Meanwhile, his co-star, Dwayne Johnson AKA ‘The Rock’, explained the film will have no problem filling in Pam’s red swimsuit, if you will.
“Who’s going to play [Pamela Anderson’s character] C.J.?” asked The Rock this weekend, “I can’t tell you the amount of calls we’ve been getting from the most gorgeous actresses and models in the world, from their agents and managers, they all want to be C.J.”
The 48-year-old also hinted at how the movie will be made.
“We want to make a big movie – a fun beach movie,” he revealed at the D23 convention.
“[We want to] bring the beach movie back to the world but also have something that has edge and has badass action and really dirty, rated-R humour – which is right in my wheelhouse.”
