An embarrassing mix up left the Lombardy Elementary School in Wilmington, Delaware, red faced and in need of a group apology after a mass email was sent to parents regarding “Exercise Your Brain Day.”
Instead of giving details for the special event at the Brandywine Hundred School, someone sent out a copy of a joke report, The Hurt Feelings Report reports news.com.
The entire document was making fun of kids who “whine” about their hurt feelings.
The satirical report asked recipients to fill in answers to questions like “which ear were the hurtful words spoken into?” and “Is there permanent feeling damage?,” that is hilarious to most, but some people were less than impressed according to news.com.
The school’s principal later sent a recorded message of apology to parents explaining the mistake.
“The attachment was something that had been sent to them from a person external to the school,” a spokesperson said. “It was not an official document of Lombardy Elementary or the Brandywine School District. This was an embarrassing mistake, but it was just that — a mistake. It should not have happened, and we apologise for the error.”
