On the cheeky Craigslist post Glantz wrote:
“When all my friends started getting engaged – I decided to make new friends. So I did – but then they got engaged also and for what felt like the hundredth time, I was asked to be a bridesmaid.
This year alone, I’ve been a bridesmaid 4 times. That’s 4 different chiffon dresses, 4 different bachelorette parties filled with tequila shots and guys in thong underwear twerking way too close to my face…”

Glantz told ABC News she decided to monetise her skills after she was asked by two different friends to be part of their wedding parties within the space of 48 hours.
“At this point, I know the process like the back of my hand,” Glantz said. “I figured, hey, why not do it for some other person who needs a bridesmaid? Why not offer up my expertise?”
While the post might be seen as a joke, the self-proclaimed “professional bridesmaid” is serious about using her experience to turn a profit and like any job pitch Glantz outlines her bridal skills in the online ad:
“Bridesmaid skills I’m exceptionally good at: Holding up the 18 layers of your dress so that you can pee with ease on your wedding day. Catching the bouquet and then following that moment up with my best Miss America-like “Omg, I can’t believe this” speech. Doing the electric and the cha cha slide. Responding in a timely manner to pre-wedding email chains created by other bridesmaids and the Maid of Honor”.
Glantz also took the time to point out why she should be considered above all others for the coveted role:
“You don’t have any other girlfriends except your third cousin, twice removed, who is often found sticking her tongue down an empty bottle of red wine. Your fiancé has an extra groomsmen and you’re looking to even things out so your pictures don’t look funny and there’s not one single guy walking down the aisle by himself. You need someone to take control and make sure bridesmaid #4 buys her dress on time and doesn’t show up 3 hours late the day of the wedding or paint her nails lime green.”

So while weddings are supposed to be an intimate affair celebrated with your nearest and dearest one might wonder ‘who would hire a professional to be part of their bridal party?’ Well, lots of people according to Glantz who told Daily Life she’s been inundated with interest.
“They’ve [responses to the ad] been pouring in – and I hope they don’t stop! … A lot of women, and even men asking on behalf of their brides, think this is a fantastic idea,” she says.

The budding entrepreneur says the attention to her ad has prompted her to recognise there is a market for the service.
“I figured half the people out there would think I was crazy and half of them would respond with a ‘are you for real?’ The immense positive results of this ad make me realise that there is quite the need for something like this and I’m glad I can help out,” she says.
When it comes to rates, Glantz says she will have to factor in cost and out-of-pocket expenses so the service will be priced on a “bride-to-bride basis”.
Hmmm… Hollywood should really make a movie about something like this and they should get Katherine Heigl to star in it and, oh wait…
