Perth mum suffers horrific burns when Thermomix explodes

A Perth mother has shared pictures of her badly-burned arms, chest and stomach after the Thermomix she was cooking with exploded.

smh.com.au reports Danika Jones was preparing a pasta sauce for dinner earlier this year when the popular appliance exploded.

โ€œI had popped the pasta sauce ingredients in the Thermomix using the same recipe Iโ€™ve used every week since I bought the machine more than two years ago,โ€ she said.

โ€œTowards the end of the process, it was pureeing the sauce when it started making a funny noise and vibrating.

โ€œI walked over to turn it off and as I did that, it just exploded โ€“ the lid blew off and hot liquid went everywhere, all over me. The pain was intense.โ€

The mother-of-two from Halls Head, WA was rushed by ambulance to the hospital burns unit for extensive treatment
