Sydney mother Melanie Tan Pelaez suffered horrific second degree burns on her arms after she fell asleep on top of her iPhone 7 while it was charging.
Melanie, who is pregnant, woke up with a pins and needles sensation before spotting the red burns and welts.
She posted the following warning to Facebook:
Melanie matched the markings on her arm to her phone and charger and immediately took the phone into the Apple Store to tell them of the incident.
Apple is working with her to investigate the incident.
She’s reportedly consulting with a plastic surgeon.
It’s certainly highlighted the dangers of overheating electronics.
