A woman is dead and her partner, a 60-year-old man, has been arrested following a shooting in NSW’s Hunter Valley.
NSW Police report that at about 3.20am (Friday, October 7), emergency services were called to Bella Street, Horseshoe Bend, in Maitland, following reports of shots fired.
A 60-year-old man exited the home and was arrested by police. He was taken to Maitland Police Station where he is assisting with their inquiries. At the location, officers located the body of a woman. She is yet to be formally identified.
A second woman, aged in her early 30s, was at the location but is uninjured.
A crime scene has been established and will be examined by forensic officers.
