After Will Therisโ sister had been missing for a month, he assumed the worst had happened. Then he got a call saying she had been found naked on the side of the road, telling investigators sheโd survived by eating berries and drinking muddy water.
Lisa Theris, 25, was spotted on the side of the road by Judy Garner while driving down a highway in Alabama. Garner told NBC she initially thought the naked woman was a deer but quickly pulled over when she realised it was a person.

Lisa Theris and her brother, Will.
โI started shaking. I was crying, I was scared, and I didnโt know what to do,โ Garner said.
โSo I went over to her and asked her if she would stay there while I get water out of my van. She stayed, and I called 911 and told them I had found a girl on the road.โ
Lisa begged Garner not to leave her side and appeared very lethargic.
โI gave her a hug and said, โYou poor thing. Youโve been through a lot,'โ Garner said. โI donโt think she could have made it much longer.โ

Authorities have said Lisa was with two men the night she disappeared who planned to rob a hunting lodge. When she learned of their plan, she fled and got lost in the unfamiliar terrain.
Sheriffโs Sergeant Chad Faulkner said โthere was a whole lot more to [the] storyโ of Lisaโs disappearance, but declined at this stage to release further information.
โItโs going to be sad and heartwarming at the same time when the story is actually released,โ he told WTVY
โIโve been doing this now going on 15 years and Iโve never seen anything like it. Her will to live is incredible.โ
Will told BuzzFeed News his siter was admitted to hospital in a critical condition but was slowly improving.
โSheโs lost at least 50 pounds and her entire body is torn up,โ he said. โBut she is as strong as they come and is handling it all as well as anyone. The doctors said it will take at least a full month to recover her health.โ
The circumstances surrounding Lisaโs disappearance are still shrouded in some mystery, with police saying theyโre waiting until Lisaโs had some time to recover before they question her too strenuously.
