Police have raided two homes in a town not far from the township of Kendall on the NSW North Coast where missing boy William Tyrell disappeared in September last year.
Local Police and members of the Sex Crimes Squad reportedly raided two properties in Laurieton yesterday, and removed a number of items of examination.
The items are believed to include a computer and a mattress.
William went missing in September during a visit by his family to his grandmother who lives in Kendall, at the end of a cup de sac outside town. The boy had been playing with his sister in their grandmother’s backyard before he disappeared.
Police launched a massive search of surrounding bushland but failed to find any evidence of the boy.
It is believed that police questioned two people in regard to William’s disappearance after they received a call to the Crime Stoppers telephone service but that they were released without charge.
Police issued a statement saying their inquiries are continuing.
In a recent development Fairfax media reports an excavator arrived at a house in Bonny Hills, near Port Macquarie, at about 8am and has been ordered to empty a septic tank in relation to the search for the toddler.
The Herald claim an elderly couple reside at the property and own a business in the nearby town of Laurieton that was searched on Tuesday.
According to residents the couple are the Guardians of at least three grandchildren.
When was William last seen?
William disappeared from his grandmother’s home in Benaroon Drive, Kendall, on the NSW Mid North Coast at 10:30am on September 12.
Police believe the toddler disappeared in a five-minute window while playing alongside his sister in his grandmother’s yard.
What does he look like?
William has been described as being of Caucasian appearance with dark hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a Spider Man suit.

New South Wales Police released a statement saying they were speaking to a number of people as part of their enquiries.
