As a general rule, when you step on a plane you do not want to hear the words, “We don’t want to die,” – especially coming from anyone involved with keeping that plane in the air.
With that in mind, you can imagine the shock of passengers who were delayed for 8 hours on a Glasgow-to-Dublin Ryanair flight who were horrified to hear one crew member’s very candid comments about why the plane hadn’t yet left the tarmac.
Instead of having a cool head about passengers questioning why they were forced to wait for hours one flighty said over the intercom: “The captain cannot take off when we have ice on the wings – we don’t want to die.”
According to passenger, Ella Ryan, who was on board the postponed 11:35 p.m. flight, the crew members comments did not help already anxious flyers.
“All hell was breaking loose when a member of staff made this outrageous announcement,” joe.co.uk
Ryanair have taken exception to the flight attendants conduct.
“[We] will be speaking to the crewmember involved and apologize for the regrettable comment she made in the heat of the moment,” Ryanair said in a statement to the Independent.
